Day 14 – Pray for Holiness

Thank you, Jesus, for your sacrifice that has “perfected” forever those who are being made holy. Your work has enabled me to clothe myself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Although, these are being developed in me, I know I would not be able to be where I am if it were not for you.

Righteous One. Holy One. The Lord, God, who is and was and is to come. You have directed me to work out my own salvation with fear and trembling. Thank you for working in me to will and to do your good pleasure. Thank you for scraping into me holiness day by day. My desire, Lord, is to be holy and righteous before you.

Give me strength, wisdom, and power –all the tools I need – to walk before you as a representative and to show your light to the world.

I ask this same thing for my fellow brethren everywhere.

Mighty God.  The God of Peace. My life here and until the day I die (or Jesus returns) is for you. Paul prayed for the Thessalonians and as he prayed, I also ask to be kept holy-my mind, my body, my spirit.

Holy Spirit, be my barometer for what is not conducive to my living for Christ. Help me to be strong among a world that ridicules my love for the Father and my actions for Him.

I don’t want to walk in the ways I did before I found out how much I needed forgiveness, how much you love me, and how Jesus is the way. Help me to be holy as you are, My Lord, guide, teacher, friend, protector, and disciplinarian.

Forgive me, Lord, for forgetting that I am a sinner made new by the blood of Jesus and daily my natural nature will sin. But I am happy to know that when I confess my sins you are quick to forgive me. Help me to live with my bent heart towards you. And forgive me today of my trespasses as I forgive those who trespass against me.

Forgive me for yesterday, because today’s prayer allows me to see that I didn’t practice forgiveness then. Someone, acting out of a hurt heart, responded negatively to me. I brought the email home and shared it with my husband. I should have forgiven that person way before then. And at the same time in my life, I’d like to be able to forgive when the offense occurs.

First, as I know you are the faithful and just to forgive me of my sins when I confess them, I know you will cleanse me of all unrighteousness.

I ask for your holy hands in the lives of those of us continue to struggle with some things. We need your strength to live out and pass that which causes us to sin

I believe you’ve heard my prayer. I believe you will answer it.

As I read Leviticus 20:7-8, my light bulb illuminates. I am sanctified and made holy by the work of Christ on the cross. Holiness is in me and all I have to do is live it out. Thank you for sanctifying me.

I close with the reminder from Your Book,

“Now unto Him who is able to keep [us] from falling , and to present [us] faultless before the presence of His Glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory, and majesty, dominion and power both now and ever. Amen”
